Worth It

if he "worth it" now, he will still "worth it" a year more or next ten years..

I forget where did I found this quote. I simply just... love it. That's the power of waiting I assume. 'Waiting' for me here is such waiting to not doing anything which should not be done before marriage. You are smart, you know what I mean.

This quote become a barrier, a reminder, just wait, patiently, until the right time comes :)

Scrambled Egg-Potato

Still have a mashed potato leftover from my previous cookingI decided to turned it as a simple dish...

It was supposed to be potato omelet.. But I have problem with keep the omelet in their exact size which is circle, of course... You know it was kinda hard to flip the omelet without breaking it... So I changed the plan and here they go scrambled egg-potato hehe... *I was so relieved an egg-based dish has such various name hehehe...

Enjoy it with warm rice and mayonnaise on top. Yummy! :)

Spicy Tuna

The freezing tuna finally was cooked :)

Chopped tuna + chopped onion, onion leaves + condiment (leftover from previous cooking) + seasoning (sugar, salt, oyster sauce) all cooked with a lil bit cooking oil and margarine.

Itt was my first time cooking using tuna. I found out that the texture of this fish was similar with beef in some way. It was more solid that pindang or sort of them and has a strong fiber with make the fish needs to be cooked any longer. So I fried the tuna first till it half cooked before added some additional things and seasoning.  I enjoyed the food with mashed potato. Yummy!

Actually I cooked this dish for iftar, but it turned out that I cooked too much for single consumption. So what I do next was kept the leftover in the refrigerator. Next day when we had a morning meal, I took out it, heat it while adding some sweet sauce and enjoy it again with cold mashed potateawhich was still left too haha... When the first dish taste spicy and more savory, the one we had later was sweeter.  The simple adding sweet sauce action made the same dish taste different. My brother complimented me for that haha... He said 'Whoa, surprisingly delicious!' :p

I'll see you later!

Fry and Grind It Together

Condiment is one of additional dish that I’m confident to make it. I’ll give you tips that I inherited from my mom. Before grind it, fry the ingredient (chilies, tomatoes and shrimp paste-if you like) first. No need to fry too long, just simply until they become a bit burnt. This is how to make your condiment taste better and last longer. Give it a try!

A Bit Chicken and Onion

Have no appetite to eat any rice later and, still, too lazy to go out for food, I cooked this one yesterday, as a dinner...

Sausage + chilies + onion + garlic + tempe (all chopped), fry in pan with margarine, not cooking oil if you want more savory taste, then add seasoning (oyster sauce, salt, sugar or sweet sauce work as well). As carbohydrate supplement I chopped a potato then fry it. Pretty simple, huh? Cooking can be so simple.

My personal rule is nothing left which is mean it’s okay to use leftover. Come on, there are people outside who are dying and you think you can just put leftover into trash bin? Use a little bit creativity, just mix what you have in refrigerator and you will surprised with the result. I’ll show you how leftover food beated a 20 y o student, in next post of course :)

I’ll see you later!

Azka and Lily

Lily is Too Curious with What Her Brother Doing
ink on paper, colored by marker then retouched and background doing in Photoshop CS3

Plan to post this illustration as an Eid Mubarak congratulation post; see the gesture of Azka look like he is celebrating something?; but give apologize for my euphoria, I can't wait, so here it is a regular post.

Why children illustration? The truth is I have been dreaming about having three or maybe five children. I am so in love with all those petite creatures and can't wait to feel all the baby kicks in my tummy :')

My everlasting (and maybe craziest) dream is surrounded by kids who take my hands and saying "Mommy mommy.." with their cutest angelic voice. Oh my... hahaha...

Anyway, in my story, Azka is the second children when Lily (her full name is Malika), are the youngest. The big sister is Caca or Sazha which I already made before here.

Sorry for my craziness! Haha...

When Kale Meets Corned

I was too lazy going out to buy any food for iftar. So, instead of buying single meal everyday, I went to supermarket and bought some groceries for.. I don't know, a week stockpile maybe :p

Those were simple dishes you should try cause they were yummy and effortless. I made my signature dish Tumis Kangkung as an appetizer. What is kangkung in English?*searching via Google translate* Oh they said it was kale.. So tumis kangkung means Kale Sauteed... Okay then... how to make it? First thing you should do is chopping the kitchen herbs like onions, garlics and chilies. The amount stands on your own flavor. Then you saute them till it spread the good smell before add the seasoning such as salt, sugar and oyster sauce. Last, add the chopped kale and tomatoes. Done.

I was big fan of Fried Tempe. And what makes better is making this dish is such damn easy. Marinate the tempe with garlic and salt or add pepper if you like more spicy taste. Let it stand for some minutes before fry it. Wait until it turns into brownish gold then remove from pan.

The last is my own try recipe. I name it Spicy Corned Ball. All you need is flour, onion leaves, egg, and water. Chop the herbs then mix it with others while add some salt and sauce. After it well mixed, add a chopped corned beef. Corned beef is what I have in my refrigerator, but I tried to put a nugget too and it works as well. So I think whatever it is as long as it  meat-based will works. After that, all you need is just fry them, piece a piece. Just like when you fry a fried bananas. Just remember, don't fry too long or it will burn but don't too hasty either or it will raw inside. Wait until it turns brownish, yes?

The rest what you need to do is enjoy them together with have-just-cooked rice. Such a good deal for your empty-tummy after fasting all day :)

So what do you think? I'm not pretending like I am a master chef or what cause I'm not. But I try to cook as much as possible even it started with simple dishes. I believe cooking is essential, especially for woman. We need to cook a good meal so our future husband (and child) bear at home *look who's talking :p* Anyway that's what my mom has done. Even she is working nine hours a day, she never left any single day to cook for her family. Not to mention her cooks are fabulous :)

I'll see you around!

PS: Tell me if you found any crack in grammar. I'm in a hurry (my looking-at-monitor-time is catching the limit) so I don't pay attention too much with the grammar thingy. Oh, I'm waiting the time when I can speak and writing like a native!

I have tuna in my freezer.. still thinking what experiment I'd make with this thing :)
Oh yeah, beside being a main course, the Spicy Corned Ball can be a snack. All you need is just eat it with mayonnaise. Ummm...yummy :9 Feels like eat western dish haha...
