How to Balance

This afternoon I was stalking along some of my favorite Instagram accounts. I jumped to kekekania’s and strolling around her timeline until one post; in which she answers question from people who asked how to balance works and family (since she looks very good in both of it). And her response was like, “What balance? My Gawd..it’s a mess!!"

Haha..

A nice-growing one business, happy family with two kids and husband who able to cook, not to mention always looks good in her comfy-effortless working outfit, it’s easy to people judging that way. Including me, who always think that how amazing any woman can gain that much energy (and still stay sane). Well, it‘s bit relieving later to know that it may not be 100% true :)) (Then I guess, there’s hope for woman like me :p)

Keke said that she doesn’t want to give up on her dreams, yet she tries her best to be present for her kids. I think this is sum up everything. My dream, your dream, our dreams were as valuable as others. Not because of marriage, nor having kids, we should stop.

Maybe it will be harder to reach,
Maybe it looks so far, far away, you have no idea will you reach it someday,
Or maybe you need a little arrangement to fit in your condition nowadays..

But just don’t give up on it.

Of course there will be a mess, who doesn't? Every woman does. It's just (mostly) social media covered it well. Keep on rolling, running, walking even crawling; just simply keep on moving to try balance things.

If it’s makes you happy, if you think it’s makes your life worth it, more if you think it will become the legacy you want your kids inherited, go for it, mama :)

Work hard for it, and give the best for your family *smooch x

Kelas Menulis Puisi

Assalamualaikum.. gimana kabarnya semua? Semoga sehat-sehat semua yaa....
Alhamdulillah Azka sekeluarga sehat semua.. :)

Nggak pikir panjang, daftar deh saya!

Kelasnya asyik; nggak formal, serius tapi santai.

Saya memilih jendela :)

-Senja di Jendela-

angin berhembus membawa cerita
menyisakan ampas kopi dan kaca
aku bersiap menutup jendela
di luar pohon berubah jingga
                                                       18/9/2016

Well, positifnya, saya kembali menulis puisi lagi, sejak... kapan, ya, terakhir kali nulis puisi? :)

Obgyn Visit 4#: Cibon in 6th & 7th Month Recap

Haloo teman-teman semuaa... :3

Sudah lama banget ya gak cerita-cerita soal perkembangannya Cibon.. Terakhir saya cerita soal Obgyn Visit yang ke3# which was last October..Weww lama banget..sekarang aja udah Februari ya.. Jujur ga inget..time really flies so so fasttt.. Kayaknya baru kemarin ngerasain yang namanya almost-all-day sickness, sekarang kalau makan udah kayak sapi aja..kayaknya baru kemarin bingung tiap liat USG Cibon, sekarang udah bisa ngenalin mana bokong mana kepala..ya ampun..kayaknya bener2 tanda kiamat nih waktu udah makin kerasa cepat.. #sedih

Jadi biar gap ceritanya gak terlalu jauh dan para pemirsa juga masih bisa nyambung, let me sum what you've been missed for the past..emm..3 months?

Tapi saya kok malah jadi inferior..dibilang ini itulah..padahal bukannya sok mau ribet usia lima bulan udah nanya bra menyusui..tp tolong deh ya, kepengen gitu bulan-bulan mendekati kelahiran udah beres semua sampai printilannya. Jangan harap deh udah dua minggu sebelum lahiran gue masih pusing beli apaa gitu yang kurang. Iya kalau suaminya gak kerja 6 to 6. After all, kalaupun saya dianggep terlalu ribet bisa dong ya nasehatinnya enak dikit... Helloo.. ini baby pertama ya..kayaknya normal deh calon ortu baru banyak nanya.. So I suppose it is you, not me, who should put extra effort to understand. Kan tiap hari juga kerjaannya ngadepin ginian.. heran deh.. --"

In that point, saya jadi kangen obgyn saya sebelumnya. Despite antrian gak manusiawinya, as a doctor, she's def good. Walopun udah malam, saya banyak tanya, beliau tetap njawab enak walaupun memang seringkes mungkin.

Waduh kok jadi ngomel... yaudah intinya begitulah. Jadi saya agak-agak sedih waktu pulang. Untungnya habis gitu nemu tempat sarapan baru yang murah dan enak jadi mood membaiklah hehe..

That's waktu Cibon 5 bulan...

Terus kan masih galau tuh ya ntar mo lahiran di mana.. Di Tuban, masih agak enggg sama dokter n RSnya.. klo di Sby takut ntar suami ga nutut nungguin..macem2 dah pertimbangannya.. Tapi akhirnya Sby wins..

Singkat cerita dua minggu sebelumnya udah daftar buat kontrol, dapet giliran nomer 1.Katanya dokternya praktek jam 10, tp hampir jam 11 baru dateng...

First impression..dokternya ga seperti yang saya bayangin haha.. Dokternya cantiik sekali, jilbabnya panjang, pake make up tapi gak menor..yah pokoknya cantik deh. Ruang prakteknya enak, apalagi lantainya parket jadi kesan warm-nya dapet haha..

Walaupun cewek sama cowok sama aja, apalagi buat anak pertama, ga tau kenapa papi Cibon pengennya anak pertamanya cowok.

*note buat kunjungan selanjutnya*

Waktu kontrol bulan keenam ini highlight-nya kan tau jenis kelamin Cibon (jadi kamu tetep dipanggil Cibon ya nak, bukan Cibonita..).. Nah lain lagi pas kontrol bulan kemarin alias pas tujuh bulan.

Haha ga mungkinlah dok, naikin BB aja setengah mati hehe...

Haha..ampunn..nguap lebaaarrr banget. Action dia kata dokter M sambil ketawa-ketawa. Jadi ga sabar pengen cepet-cepet lahiran :))

habis ngecap-ngecap trus angop... haha ibu bapaknya banget nih. habis makan trus ngantuk :D
Oya saya sempet tanya lagi jenis kelaminnya... dan tetap cowok alhamdulillah.. Bukan apa-apa..walaupun memang belum ada yang pasti tapi jujur sampai sekarang belum nyiapin nama buat anak cewek blas...jadi mudah-mudahan beneran cowok ya kamu nak, biar mi sama abi ga pusing-pusing lagi hihi...Mudah-mudahan kesenengannya mi baca surat Yusuf instead of surat Maryam jadi pertanda kalau kamu memang laki-laki ya nak :)

Btw kalau dilihat dari USG, dagunya Cibon bagus ya? #OOT

Yah sekian dulu cerita tentang Cibon sampai kontrol ke-7 bulan kemarin. Sebenarnya banyak yang pengen diceritain, tapi ntar deh di postingan lain biar gak terlalu panjang hihi... Ohy a trims lho buat yang suka mampir ngintip-ngintip postingan curcol saya terutama tentang expecting a baby ini! :D)

I'll be around very soon fellas! Much love from Umminya Cibon and Cibon ♥♥♥

Shabby Chic Tropical House

Remember my old post about Dream House? Well, I think we are a step near to create it :)
My husband found a piece of lot in the hook. It was small actually, but we  fall in love with the location. It is in the city but not that packed and crowded. We hope in the early next year we already move to a new house, amin :)

So now, we are busy creating how the house will look like. Thanks to Google, I found all this gasping pictures with the 'tropical house' and 'shabby chic' keyword.

That's for the tropical house. I really love the idea of open space and natural color elements.

...and that's is for the shabby chic interior. The soothing ambiance created by off white furniture, all the fluffy and feminine touch... I definitely can't say no.

So you so see, I am confused between those two. Both of them has unique characteristic that I can't deny. Who doesn't love warming feeling of the natural color wood? Tropical style make me dreaming of the beach... But shabby chic is a girl deepest desire. I love sneaking into flowery pillow. And the French windows is just too cute...

I guess I will let any interior designer help us.

Yellow and Shopisticated

Hello readers...seriously, is there anyone who really check out my blog regularly? I am feeling like jumping into the well since I was so ashamed of myself to be one of the baaadd and laaazy blogger. Well, I guess you gonna familiar with it now..eh?

Cliche but, yes, life have been busy yet I enjoy my reality so much then I become so egoistic not to share the whole story here. The truth is I have broke my digital camera and it feels like I lost half of my heart. Seriously, for such kind of person who always brings camera literally everywhere, snap this snap that, from beautiful flowers till the look-delicious-but-unfortunately-not food that I see in my daily life, it is so heart breaking to see my camera is not working. Poor, I live in a small city, so I have to bring this camera to a bigger one for a repairment (I am on my way to do it next week). This thing is the biggest reason why you saw no picture in my latest post. You may said, don't you have handphone with camera? Yes, I am... But it is not same, my friend, it never be same...

By the way have you check newest e-magz in town??

Click the image to shoot the web!

I did the logo, cover and layout...Please tell me what do you think for future improvement! Aaanndd...enjoy the issue! It is really read-worthy, promise! ;)

I'll write again since my deadline is almost over haha..

And I still manage my promise to post a least one posting/ week, 7 AM in Monday, new post already hang up here... PINKY PROMISE!

Lots of love from Tuban ♥♥♥

♥ Once in a Lifetime: My Royal Gold Moment ♥

In my previous post I already told you about the akad ceremony. While akad was held in the morning, the reception was held in the afternoon. I was waaay more relax since, like my mom said, "the principal part of the wedding is the akad. Reception is just party after all". I am a bit tired since I didn't get enough sleep the night before (I'll told about it in next post) and still worried about petty little things ( I know I shouldn't actually), but most of all, I was happy! I held my brand new hubby's hand  as often as possible and we stared each other like we didn't believe we are finally a husband and wife :') ( I knooowww.... it's silly :p)

My wedding itself using three big color theme which were gold, ivory and deep brown. When akad mostly used the ivory, the party was more to gold. My friend Dila said it was eclectic since I also mixed three big theme here; Javanese, Arabic and Modern-Islamic. I don't know, I just love mixing things :D

I luuurve the decor! Maroccan style. Beyond expectation :)
I was worried that I would falling so I rarely smile during the kirab (blame the 9 cm heels!)
I asked mas Hendy (the main photographer) to take many detail pics :) *inspired by lovely Alodita*
very happy seeing the guests :)
Dad and mom
Ultimate beauty, my girls!!! PS: Icha is still single by the way...(on the left, wearing black clutch)
My hubby's mate... So crazy they bring banner to the wedding venue :)) And..hey! The bride and groom were hidden cause of them!
My design mate :D
High school fellas was saying wedding congratulation :) I was friend with some of them since elementary school :')
So lucky to find Islamic music entertainment like this :)
...and finally, the bride and groom. The party was over yet the 'real' party has been starting since then :)

Wedding Reception Vendor:

Venue: Grha Sepuluh Nopember, ITS Surabaya

MUA and hijab styling: Puri Kencana Ayu
Decor and hand bouquet: Mitra Decoration (Pak Mitro)
Catering: Hidayah

Video: Galahumanoid
Music Entertainment: Alkahfinita

Alhamdulillah everything about wedding ceremony was OVER! Haha... I am totally relieved! Not that I was not enjoying the process nor the preparation...but thinking about all the sweat and blood... it was too small if I say I am happy I just have one reception... Maybe things would be different if I was using wedding organizer then...(note to self: if anyone asked about it, tell them use WO for D-day! Especially if they are super-drama-paying-to-details-perfectionist like me. Or they will just died. Like me. Okay, skip that)

So, like I have said before...the real party is on the way! Maybe you'll see a lot of newlywed thingy in the future hahah... Please don't get bored with it since I am not! *what a egoistic author :p* So I guess, I'll see you later? Live your life people, and have a blast! :D

♥ My Humble Akad Nikah Ceremony ♥

Assalamualaikum Wr Wb...

After spending HOURS picking (and a bit of editing), finally I am proudly say that I will post my wedding photos here!! *enthusiast clap*

My wedding, maybe wasn't my dream wedding at first. But as time went by, I started grew a strong feeling for it; its like my baby that I was taking care of until giving birth. And alhamdulillah the process of giving birth was running smoothly :)

I got married on Mother's Day, December 22th 2012. Me and my family was worried about the weather, since December is one of the biggest rain month. I was thinking will I get a sunny day like in June but I know that I shouldn't hoping too much. So we only pray, pray, and pray to God, to give us the best. The whole family, especially the grandmas, hummed Al Kautsar tons a day until the wedding day.

And you know? It was really a sunny day.

A big one :)))

After akad, the photographers team manage us to have photoshoot in mosque's park(ing area). I was so nerveous since it was the first time for me and hubby taking pictures like that (we didn't do any prewedding photoshoot before). We're a bit clumsy but we smiled a lot. So happy finally we're a legal spouse! :D

Alhamdulillah :)

Akad's Vendors:

Venue: Masjid Manarul Ilmi, ITS Surabaya
MUA and hijab styling: Puri Kencana Ayu
Groom's and fathers beskap: Puri Kencana Ayu
Bride's kebaya: (self design) The Darling Premium
Wedding ring: private design made by Kaliem, Jakarta
Feather pen: Dear Darla Crafthings

There aren't perfection in this world, and so was my wedding. But despite everything it would be overrated if I forced my ego and complained; I got too much blessings that day. The biggest one was the weather of course, which really helps our guests came to the venue. The second was my friends and other guests, even who lived far away, but still managed to come. And another million blessings to prove that I had no reason to regret anything. Thanks God, thank you for the blessing. Thank you to make my dream become real.

So, are you satisfied now? What? Photos from reception? Ah, I am worry that you should wait, at least until tomorrow :p

I'll see you soon! x

In A Month

*all pics were gathered from Google*

I am going married in a month.
The stress still remain but I managed it pretty well.
Although I won't be a party pooper, I think a bit of wedding moodboard won't harm anyone!

Broken white is my eternal love. And I always looking forward to the touch of gold.
Well, the result won't be exactly like the pics above, talking about cost... But no one as curious as me to see how my wedding turns out! :D

My First Hit Gindara Steak

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.

Howdy, people? Start to get used myself to do blogging regularly again...Well, what we have today? Oh yes, I  still owe you my cooking Ramadhan post...

People, there's time when I went to nearest mall with my friend Icha and we found that Periplus was holding a sale. Woohooo... I can't. Barely. Breath. I always head over heels about book sale!!!

To be short, we both digging books and expected to found something like Pantone color book in 50% price off (like it will be happen hehe...). But guess what? Not the color book, but almost as best, we amazingly found Periplus Mini Cookbook edition in bargain price, only IDR 5000 to IDR 10.000!! There wouldn't be another chance like this, ha!

It may sounds like me or Icha were pro, but actually we were not more than two ladies that love plans. And one of our plans (or dreams) is mastered cooking skill so we can serve our future family well! Hahaha...
So the end of story was Icha bought two books and me, happily, bring home Homestyle Chinese Cooking, Hearty Country Cooking, Ice Cream & Desserts, Soup and Pudding & Pie. My newest treasure of impulse buying :D

History noted that in one of the Peaceful day of Ramadhan, I tried my luck to adapt one of the recipe. I like to buy something new to eat and gindara fish was spotted when I did monthly shopping groceries. I opened the pages of my newest heart and found something that would be perfect for my dear gindara in  Homestyle Chinese Cooking. Gewd!

The original recipe called Red Braised Fish Steak. It's recommended to use tuna, halibut, seabass or other firm-fleshed deep water fish. I wasn't sure gindara was on the circle, as I am not sure what gindara called in English... but I kept using it since it has almost exactly the same appearance like the one in the book heheh... And because I already bought it :p

The main spices were basic; salt and pepper. But you need more for the sauce; soy sauce, wine (I skipped it since I didn't eat/drink alcohol), sugar, sesame oil ( I didn't have it in my fridge so I used usual palm oil); vinegar (idem), and grated ginger. Oh and I add a bit of oyster sauce to give more Chinese flavor.

The cooking process was easy, as it only need less than 10 minutes. You need to heat skillet and rub its inside surface with fresh ginger (new tips, it helps prevent sticking!) and place the fillet in the pan after sprinkle its both sides with salt and pepper. The recipe said I should wait two minutes for both sides, but to be honest I didn't really count, just used my feeling; when the skin started crisp, it means enough.

Then you need to mix the sauce ingredients and pour over the fish. Gently shake the pan to blend and distribute the sauce evenly then braise without lid for 1 or two minutes. For the serving, you may use chopped spring onions or coriander as well. But since I didn't have those two too and I was craving for something hot, I pick my green chilies. No worries, it was still suit Chinese food, rite?

Best served with warm rice. Yum!
The best part about this dish was its fresh flavor which coming from the grated ginger that met the fresh fish. Ah, savory... :9
Oh and another tips, if you are not a big fan of sweets like me, don't add soy sauce too much. Oyster sauce will work out well and give more tempting result ;)

See you another chance!
xoxo

PS: Is it Monday today? Geez, I forget today is the day dedicated to post about dreams. Duh.

Diary of a Mad Bride

Three months to go to the wedding... I am torn between panic-stress out and excited-full of happiness... (Yay, I'm gonna be a wife so soon! Oh, wait, I hope the invitations turn out good... oh my, oh my...*headache*)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know, back then when I was in a junior high school, I started reading chic literature. Well, yes, a bit mature for my age... but we're not talking about that now...
Among all those novels I had read, there was one that pretty special, that special so I got inspired by the tittle to use it as my blog's name. The novel was Diary of a Mad Bride by Laura Wolf.

images from here

Amy always wonders why marriages make her girlfriends degenerate into crazy, self-absorbed psychos. Well, when her boyfriend Stephen proposes, she tells herself that she is above the hysteria. She will do this planning rationally.
Oh yes, ma'am, R-A-T-I-O-N-A-L-L-Y.

Of course, the plans will soon spiral out of control. Amy's 20-itemed to-do-list soon ballooned to a 39-itemed list and later, mercy, 70 items. She can't find a location. Her Granny may be sabotaging her coming wedding. And what a time to discover that your parents favor your sister over you. Catering! Why is everything so darned expensive and why wouldn't the parents dole out more cash? Do they think that Amy and Stephen produce money from their toilet bowl sessions? AND WHERE ARE THE DAMNED *&^%ING SHOES?

I hadn't been proposed nor met my soulmate, I was just a teenage that still wearing braces that time. But I remember giggling all the time I read Amy's story. Her way of thinking, the ups and down in preparing the wedding; how she deals with vendors, her family and friends, and Stephen; the demand to be the the perfect bride... even her crazy times to find the perfect wedding shoes. I agree with Goodreads, it was a riotously funny novel, but more than that, it was a sweet, tender love story. And the best? We saw it in our lives.

I am thinking about the novel more these times among my wedding preparation. When I found myself fussy about the invitation design so long, I remember Amy's wedding shoes finding. Actually it can be done in very simple way; we just need to choose it and accept it. Don't worry too much. But that's the distraction, and every bride has their own.

As a Javanese (or I may said Indonesians), we live with a high demand from the society. We are care, or too care with people may think about us. My mom and I was stressed out enough thinking what will be this wedding turns out; will it be okay? Will the guests are satisfied? Will the guests are all happy? And so on. Later she can take it very well and just focusing to what to do and let God do the rest- that's what she said. But me? Sometimes I am still worrying about the day. But then I remembered Amy's feeling when she walk into the aisle; it's just a grand event but the life after marriage that's important.

There's no bride (and wedding) without all the hysteria, even it was a little. But I try my best to enjoy the process and keep in mind that later, after the wedding, I will make a fun about these days. Weeks ago I had 80:20 of stress and excitement. Few days ago I had 50:50. Today, after the invitation design had been sent to the printing house, I found almost none of the stress left :) So I guess, I am already going through the worst. Three months left, finally I can think about the honeymoon (whaat? haha...).

Then see you!
 xoxo

P.S. : The Diary of a Mad Bride has its sequel! The Diary of a Mad Mom-to-be. It has been quite time since it was published... I guess I'll have a copy in near time :)
P.S.S: My man once asked me whether I'll change my blog's name into Diary of a Mad Mom after I get married. My response is 'Euh!' Is it mean that I should change into Diary of a Mad Grandmother soon I have a grandchild??
